THE SPIRIT OF HORSES

This photo was submitted by Andrea St.Hilaire at mysticmorn@aol.com.

According to Andrea's letter, "I am 13 years old and live in Gardner, Massachusetts. I am enclosing a picture that was taken in the summer of 1996. It is a picture of a stable worker at the racing stable where my family keeps our horses. This stable worker was loading a racing sulky on to the trailer to take to the races so one of the stable's horses could compete in an extreme race. There are two 'ribbons' of light crossing the picture, which I think to be spirits. This picture was an extremely cloudy day, so I guarantee these rays are not sunlight."

"Let me explain about the spirits I think these are. A few months before this picture was taken, Stimpy, a horse at our stable, had to be put down because of colic. Another horse, Winkle, ( a good buddy of Stimpy) was killed when, in fright from a truck that backfired on the road by the stable, galloped out onto the road and was hit by a motorcycle. Both the horse and the motorcycle rider were killed."

"Both horses were VERY good racers, and loved to race. As I said above, this picture was taken on the day of an important race. I believe that these 'ribbons' are just the spirits of the two horses returning to get ready to go to the race together."
