Mining Ghost Town

We discovered the Congress old mining ghost town a few years ago, but this time we decided to see if we could record some ghost voices. The stone cabin on the top left had walls that were sixteen inches thick. We recorded 28 ghost voices from the cabin itself. The area we investigated was beyond the old ghost town site because it is fenced off as private property, but the miners built cabins all around the company mine. Independent miners dug their own mine shafts, see top right. We found this mine entrance almost completely blocked by rocks.

The lower left photo shows all that is left of an old rock wall, perhaps a part of an old stone cabin. We have enjoyed hiking around the Arizona desert finding lost cabins and old mine shafts.
